The Spark funding scheme supports promising, novel and unconventional research projects in all disciplines. Share LinkedIn Bluesky Email WhatsApp Mastodon X Facebook Spark enables researchers to test or develop novel and unconventional scientific approaches, methods, theories, standards and ideas within a short time. Preliminary data do not necessarily need to be available. Spark is aimed at researchers in all disciplines who have a doctorate or an equivalent qualification. To ensure that the evaluation is focused entirely on the project idea and not the person, the proposals are assessed in a double-blind procedure, i.e. the applicant and the evaluators do not know each other’s identity. Applicants can request grants of between CHF 50,000 and 100,000 for a project duration of 6 to 12 months. Approved projects must start within 6 months after the funding decision.
